Original Art

  • Jul. 12th, 2008 at 7:06 AM

I've been fortunate and blessed to get good illustrators for my books and have always wanted to buy at least one piece of original art.  And now I've done it!  I bought the cover art for Pennies in a Jar from the artist, Ted Lewin.  I picked it up from the framer yesterday and we hung it in my office.  And I absolutely love it!

Thanks, Lisa. It felt like a pricey thing to do, but I'm glad I have it.

Thanks, Lisa. It's done in watercolor and the 'up close' details are amazing. What a talent.

That's so beautiful! I finally did the same thing this year, bought a piece from Elizabeti's Doll. Something to always treasure...

Thanks, Kym. It took me a long time before I actually did it, but I admire Ted Lewin's art so much, I knew this was the right time.

Beautiful! I bet it looks great on your wall.
You could collect a whole gallery of art from your books! It's all beautiful!

That would be nice, wouldn't it? But who can afford it?

I LOVE Ted Lewin!
This is a beautiful painting as well! Isn't it interesting the difference between an original and a reproduction (no matter how good the reproduction, there will On a Wintry Morning. But then, often times the art really is a reflection of the writing!
